Frozen Art

I am stripped bare,
a lost heart;
the waves keep moving,
yet I remain frozen art.
The sky is dark,
the ocean deep—
may it carry me away,
or drown me in its sleep.
I long to vanish,
yet no sea creature will claim my bones.
I owe this life—
too many ties, too many sorrows.
So I wait,
adrift in the grey,
still clinging to this dusk,
hoping for a brighter day.
